GENERAL INFORMATION
FOR ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP

All applicants must have had 1 year of Algebra with a passing grade, be 18 years or older, have a valid drivers license, and a high graduate or GED and documentation is required.

After an applicant has sent in the required information, within the specific time frame, they will be scheduled for an Aptitude test with the Workforce Development Center. This committee requires that an applicant score a medium or high to be eligible for an interview. Those that rank at the top (of a pre-determined number of apprentices to take for the year) will then be scheduled for a drug screening and will be required to pass it.

This is a 5 year program. An apprentice will, at the end of his or her term, gain on-the-job training in the excess of 8000 hours and over 940 hours of class room training. As an apprentice advances through his or her training, they receive predetermined pay increases (a percentage of JW scale). EARN WHILE YOU LEARN. At the end of an apprentice's term they become a Journeyman Wireman and are paid full scale.

You can contact Carol Korty if you have any questions at (765) 449-4300.
